It is not possible to read Adobe Digital Rights Management (DRM) protected ebooks on the Kindle.

The majority of eBooks available from the library are protected by Adobe DRM, which is not supported by standard Kindles. Kindles can only access DRM protected ebooks that are protected with its own proprietary DRM (Kindle DRM). Therefore you cannot transfer ebooks from Adobe Digital Editions (for example, downloaded Proquest Central ebooks that are protected with Adobe DRM) to standard Kindles.

The Kindle Fire supports the Bluefire Reader app. Read the instructions on installing the app on a Kindle Fire.

The Kindle does support DRM free PDF's. Connect the Kindle to your computer through a USB cable and drag-and-drop the PDF's from your computer to the Kindle.
