Reading Adobe Digital Rights Management (DRM) protected ebooks on Kindle is impossible.
Most eBooks available from the library are protected by Adobe DRM, which is not supported by standard Kindles. Kindles can only access DRM-protected ebooks covered with proprietary DRM (Kindle DRM). Therefore you cannot transfer ebooks from Adobe Digital Editions (for example, downloaded Proquest Central ebooks protected with Adobe DRM) to standard Kindles.
The Kindle Fire supports the Bluefire Reader app. Read the instructions on installing the app on a Kindle Fire.
The Kindle does support DRM-free PDFs. Connect the Kindle to your computer through a USB cable and drag and drop the PDFs to the Kindle.
