What is Zotero?
Zotero is a free, open-source software application, designed to help you organise your literature research by managing your references. With Zotero, you can collect, organise, tag and manage references within your Zotero library.
Zotero integrates with word processors such as MS Word and Google Docs to properly format in-text citations and reference lists in commonly used referencing styles, such as APA 7th, Vancouver, Harvard and AGLC4.
Browser connectors are used to save references to Zotero. Browser connectors are available for both Chrome and Firefox.

Installing Zotero on your computer
To use Zotero on your personal computer, install these two components from the Zotero website:
- The Zotero software.
- A browser extension to capture references and send them to your Zotero library.
Storage and syncing
Zotero provides users with 300mb of storage for free. This volume of storage will suffice for a reasonable numbe of references, however, to store PDFs and other files to the Zotero cloud, additional storage may be needed.
