EndNote Online
EndNote Web allows you to access your EndNote library online from any computer. It supports collaboration by allowing you to share your references with other EndNote Web users.
Setting up your EndNote online account
1. In EndNote, go to the Edit menu (or EndNote menu on macOS) and select Preferences > Sync
2. Click the Enable Sync button to go to the EndNote online Login dialog.
3. Click the Sign Up button to begin the registration and activation process.
EndNote Web and Word
To insert references into your Word document from EndNote Web, you must have EndNote online selected in Word:
- Open your Word document.
- Select the EndNote 21 tab.
- Select Preferences.
- Select the Applications tab.
- Choose EndNote Online from the drop-down menu:
- To change your EndNote application back to the desktop version, select EndNote from the drop down menu.
EndNote sync
EndNote allows you to synchronise your desktop library to an online account. This means you can use the sync feature to download your library from your online account to another computer or device. For example, you can have your primary EndNote library on your personal computer and sync it to your work computer, or to your iPad. Any changes you make in your EndNote library will sync and be reflected in your EndNote library on other devices.
You can only sync one library at a time. If you have several libraries, e.g. separate libraries for individual projects, or you share desktop libraries with colleagues, syncing may not be the best option.
Watch the video below for instructions on how to use the sync feature.
